Xbox 360 3 Red Ring(s) Fix – repairIt within an hour
If your Xbox 360 has stopped functioning and you are going through the III red Ring(s) problem don’t fret, there is hope. With some simple tools and a good fix manual you can perform the Xbox 360 Fix.
You will need a pack of torx screwdrivers, If you dont have a pack you can grab up a low cost set at your local hardware store.
The III red light(s) problem means that there is a unit hardware failure. First thing you want to try is to unplug everything and let your console sit for 20 minutes disconnected from the power. Replug everything in and try it again, If you’re still getting the problem remove the HD and re-install it. Sometimes they get loose and you get a bad connection.
If that quick fix method didnt solve it you will have to open it up at this point. The most frequent failures are no video or disks will read. Both the video and the game disks can be repaired fairly speedily.
If you have no video you can try a new similar video cord, borrow a friends cable cord if you do not have another one. If you still have no video but audio is functioning you will have to check the soldering connections on the mother board for the video connector. Take a look at the manual before attempting this or any other internal repairs.
If your Xbox 360 is not scanning the disks or getting disk errors make sure your disks are clean. After that you may have to replace the DVD drive or if you have the skills you can remove the DVD drive and replace just the pick up assembly. This is a lot cheaper than replacing the entire drive. Again consult the fix manual before attempting this.
Your other choice is to send your console off to Microsoft and Wait. Nothing worse than having Halo 3 and not being able to play it. I prefer to do my own modifications and Xbox 360 Repair. The console unit is very similar to your home PC, it is actually a small computer. With a little patience anyone can learn how to do there own repairs.
